Daily Confession: I Have Great Legs.

Last week was National Eating Disorder Awareness Week and I spent a little bit of time learning about the place of eating disorders in America. It was scary, daunting, and so sad to see the statistics about body and eating issues today.

  • Nearly half of all Americans know someone with an eating disorder.
  • 50% of girls between 11 and 13 see themselves as overweight (Isn't that horrible?).
  • As many as 10% of college women suffer from a clinical or nearly clinical eating disorder.
I don't necessarily struggle with an eating disorder, but I do realize that it's easy for me to look at my body and find a list of things I'd like to change. I have decided to stop listing the negative (and work on them with more weight training and strength exercises) and think so, so much about the positives. The things that I absolutely love about my body.

That said, I have great legs. Being an ex-soccer player for a whole decade of my life, cross-country athlete gone long-distance runner, my legs have always been thick, muscular, and toned. As much as I like them, J does too (which always helps!).

What's YOUR favorite part of your hot bod?
How do you get over the "fat" days where nothing seems to fit and you have nothing to wear?

That statistic is just horrible, I can't believe that many young girls think they're overweight :(

I get over my fat days by wearing my fat jeans.. yes, I have a pair it's just slightly bigger for such days - however, once I realized this are the only pair I can fit into I got to the gym and make a point to eat healthier for the next few days until I can fit in my regular jeans again hehe

Those statistics make me sad! :( Hmm, I love my calves. And my back flexibility. When I take yoga or pilates, my instructors can always tell I danced in high school. Makes me feel good :)

Cute blog Amber! Dana introduced me while she was here. It looks like life truly is SWEET!

Umm. This is hard, but I like my dark eyebrows, despite having blonde hair. That's kind of weird.

All of the statistics broke my heart and I just picked a few... What a challenge it can be to raise girls in a world that says stick skinny is the only kind of beautiful...

Blair, Love the chin! It's funny you pick that because I'm the only child in my family (there are five) that has a dimple in my chin like my dad... Something I have always loved!

Fran, Oh fat jeans. I have fat sweats and shirts... So comfy and so accommodating to my extra little weight I feel I have!

Amber, Flexibility is something I cannot boast of. I am horrible at stretching!

Lauren, I love dark eyebrows with blonde hair! Thanks for visiting and leaving some love! :)
